A small update

I have not posted in nearly a month – and before that only in “quote form”. I have a policy that if I cannot say something positive I better shut up – hence the silence.

I have finished teaching our Adult Faith Formation Class for this term: five classes on the Apostles Creed. It was a rewarding experience for me but I am not so sure for the rest. It is sometimes hard to know the level of personal involvement of the people in the subject matter – a form of redemptive suffering maybe? I was also involved in some private RCIA sessions. I am also having some issues with our main computer and the router attached to it which I cannot at this moment be bothered fixing. And, in the middle of it all, our espresso machine broke.

I am reading through the Confessions again. More for comfort than anything else. I am also reading Augustine’s “Confessions”: A Biography by Garry Wills. The book itself – from a purely physical bibliophile perspective – is lovely. The pages and the cover are real. The subject matter is slightly different: I know the author knows his stuff but I find it a little laborious at times.

Anyway, just a small update.

    • Could also add that I managed to drop my phone (in the pouring rain) and watched it go down a drain (with all my phone numbers etc on it!)!?!?!

  3. It amused the kids (who were sitting in the bus watching me), especially when I tried to do the whole “full length head-first slide into second” trying to catch the phone!
