A new start??

I have renewed the domain name and the hosting plan for the next year. So it looks like I’ll be sticking around a little longer.

The last couple of days I have returned to a topic I have often wondered about: how do we do theology? I was wondering if Anselm’s challenge, a theology based purely on reason, can work. My reason, so to say, has been one that is apologetic in nature: in a world that has abandoned metaphysics can the common experience of being “human” bring us back to the Other? So maybe for the next couple of weeks I will post some of those thoughts, remembering that I am not a philosopher nor theologian and, most certainly, not a self-appointed apologist.

So to start: is there a self-evident starting point for thinking about anything? Is there a tautology that we can all agree on and start from there?

    Try these 2:

Law of Non-contradiction: a statement cannot both be true and false in the same way at the same time.

Law of Human Action: Humans always act as an attempt to change their situation for the better or as an attempt to prevent a worsening of their situation.
